WHAT WE USE ON THE CATS IN THE RESCUE
(AND OUR OWN PERSONAL CATS)
FLEAS
For fleas we use 2 products regularly as we have a few cats with Flea Allergy Dermatitis. For the cats that do not have FAD we use Revolution monthly topical and for the ones that have FAD we use Seresto flea collars.
We get great results using both. But I honestly prefer to use Revolution as it works against fleas, intestinal worms and ear mites. The Seresto flea collar is supposed to work for 8 months, but the one we are currently using it on we can start telling when it's losing its effectiveness as he starts chewing around the base of his tail again which is usually the 6th month. We use Revolution more than Seresto and we see on all the cats it works fully on some, and others just about 3 weeks.
We also use capstar if we get a cat in with many fleas. We do flea baths upon entry to get them started in the flea prevention process as soon as possible. For kittens we wrap them in a towel sprayed with Frontline spray.
